Historic Downtown Northville Deck Update with Deckorators® Summit Cliffside Decking

Historic Downtown Northville is known for its timeless homes and distinctive neighborhoods, and this deck update demonstrates how premium composite materials can enhance an existing outdoor living space while complementing the character of the home. Rather than replacing the entire structure, Titan Decks transformed the deck by installing new composite decking, railings, and stairs, giving the homeowners the appearance and performance of a completely refreshed outdoor space.

The project began by removing the existing deck surface, railings, and staircase while leaving the existing framing in place. This approach allowed the existing structure to remain while creating a dramatic visual transformation with premium, low-maintenance materials.

The new deck surface was built using Deckorators® Summit Cliffside mineral-based composite decking. The Cliffside color offers a sophisticated blend of warm gray and brown tones that pairs beautifully with the home’s exterior. Matching fascia and a full picture-frame border provide clean, finished edges that define the deck and highlight the craftsmanship throughout the project.

One of the most striking features of the completed deck is the Trex® Signature black aluminum railing system. The slim balusters create an open, unobstructed view of the backyard while providing a sleek architectural appearance that complements both the deck and the home. A matching Deckorators Cliffside composite cocktail rail was installed along the top of the railing, creating a durable surface that’s perfect for entertaining, outdoor dining, or simply enjoying the backyard.

The staircase was rebuilt using matching Deckorators Summit Cliffside decking and Trex Signature railing, creating a seamless transition from the deck to the patio below. From every angle, the updated staircase blends naturally with the deck while providing safe and comfortable access to the backyard.

The completed project delivers a clean, modern outdoor living space that respects the historic character of the property while offering all the advantages of today’s premium composite decking.
