Composite Deck Rebuild in Green Oak Township, MI
This Green Oak Township homeowner wanted to replace an aging deck with a completely new structure designed to provide more usable outdoor living space while complementing the home.
Titan Decks removed the existing deck and constructed the new deck from the ground up. The finished project combines Deckorators Summit Cliffside composite decking and fascia, a contrasting Dark Slate picture frame, and black Trex Signature aluminum railings.

Building a New Deck from the Ground Up
Rather than resurfacing the existing structure, this project involved removing the old deck and building a new deck.
The new structure was built with 6×6 posts set on concrete footings, 2×10 beams, and 2×8 joists installed 12 inches on center. During construction, rotten wood was also identified and replaced where needed.
The result is a solid new structure designed specifically for the composite decking system installed above it.
Deckorators Summit Cliffside Composite Decking
For the main deck surface, the homeowners selected Deckorators Summit decking in Cliffside.
Cliffside provides a warm, natural-looking neutral tone that works especially well with the darker exterior of the home. The same Cliffside material was used for the fascia, creating a coordinated finished appearance around the deck.
Composite decking also provides the homeowners with a low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood decking without the ongoing staining and sealing associated with a wood deck.
Dark Slate Picture Frame
A Deckorators Dark Slate picture frame was incorporated into the design to provide contrast against the lighter Cliffside decking.
The darker border defines the perimeter of the deck, while additional Dark Slate detailing visually separates sections of the large deck surface. The same contrasting material carries through to the stair area, tying the overall design together.
Black Trex Signature Railings
The deck was finished with black Trex Signature aluminum railings.
The slim black balusters provide the safety and definition needed around the elevated deck while maintaining open views of the backyard. The black railing also complements the Dark Slate accents and the home’s exterior.
A Larger Outdoor Living Space
One of the most noticeable features of this Green Oak Township project is its size and configuration.
The deck extends across a substantial portion of the rear of the home and wraps around the existing architectural features. A wide staircase provides convenient access between the deck and backyard.
The combination of the large composite surface, contrasting picture frame, and black aluminum railing creates a finished outdoor space that feels integrated with the home rather than simply attached to it.
